Omez Capsule is a medication that decreases acid production in the stomach. It is commonly prescribed to treat conditions such as peptic and gastric ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by excessive stomach acid secretion.

This capsule should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, most often once daily before eating. Swallow it whole with water and do not break, crush, or chew the capsule. For best results, take the medicine at the same time each day and complete the full course of treatment, even if symptoms improve earlier. To support recovery, avoid triggers such as alcohol, smoking, and spicy or acidic foods. Eating smaller meals and staying upright for some time after meals may also help relieve symptoms.

Some people may experience side effects like headache, abdominal discomfort, nausea, loose stools, vomiting, or increased gas. These effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if diarrhea becomes severe, persistent, or watery, you should consult your doctor. Drinking plenty of fluids and maintaining a balanced diet can help minimize digestive discomfort.

Before starting Omez Capsule, inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney-related conditions. Prolonged or high-dose use may increase the risk of bone fractures, vitamin B12 or magnesium deficiency, or the development of certain stomach polyps. Therefore, this medicine should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or blistering skin rashes. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of its components. Also, tell your doctor about all other medications you are taking, as interactions may occur.
